Conference on Nuclear Safeguards

Energy Commissioner Papoutsis, the Russian Ministry for nuclear matters and Gosatomnadzorn as well as national authorities responsible for nuclear matters from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania and Ukraine took part in the event.

The objective was to encourage free exchange of information with government and industry representatives from the EU, the CIS and the Baltic states on opportunities for establishing reliable national systems of nuclear materials accounting and control, and export control in the CIS and the Baltic states as well as suggest necessary actions to strengthen the Non-Proliferation Regime in the territories.
