Discussion on the biofuel directive: achievements and prospects

When it comes to sustainable development, combating climate change and improving security of energy supply, biofuels are repeatedly quoted.

In Europe, TOTALFINAELF has been active in developing all sorts of hydrocarbon fuels, including biofuels.

Jean-Paul Vettier explained what has already been achieved, why the development looks fairly slow and what we can expect in the future.

He gave his views on the two proposed directives now submitted to the Council and the European Parliament.
