Renewables and gas – the perfect partners in heating

2Sep
2014
Dinner debate in Brussels

Speakers:

– Gertjan Lankhorst, President of Eurogas and CEO of GasTerra

– Dr. Dörte Fouquet, Director of the European Renewable Energy Federation (EREF)

Heating in the domestic and tertiary sectors in the EU is responsible for nearly a third of energy demand. This is reason enough to find out how both demand and emissions can be reduced cost-efficiently in the heating sector whilst security of supply is maintained.

As in all energy sectors, the relationship between renewables and gas is that of competition as well as perfect complementarity. This benefits the customers because they cannot just choose between the two, they can also combine them in multiple ways, whatever the domestic circumstances and whatever the personal preferences.

Dörte Fouquet, Director of the European Renewable Energy Federation (EREF), and Gertjan Lankhorst, new President of Eurogas and CEO of GasTerra, will discuss pros and cons of renewables and gas, as well as their literally powerful combination in heating, and will identify policies that can unlock their full potential.

We look forward to welcoming our members to this event.
