MA (History), Aarhus University. Teacher and organiser of adult education (1983-1989). Consultant (various contracts): working with European projects within the area of education and human resource development (1989-1994). Consultant, HK (Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark), responsible for international projects and surveys in the tourism and service industries (1994-2000). Director and owner of Facilitate (consultancy), working with labour market issues at European level (2001-2004).

Assistants
The office of Britta Thomsen has four permanent staff members. Thomas Larsen is an administrative assistant responsible for structuring Brittas political everyday. Thomas has a background as a correspondent in English and French. Sofie Lohmann Nielsen is a student in journalism and responsible for Britta's press work. Marie Louise Lund has a bachelor's degree in political science and assists Britta with her work in FEMM. Mads Reinholdt has a degree in political science and assists Britta with her work in ITRE-committee.
