History
The EEF was founded in the beginning of the 1980’s, on the initiative of MEPs who wanted their decisions to be based on adequate technological, economic and geopolitical considerations and to avoid ideological prejudices. The founders intended that, when presented with a proposal, MEPs should have access to information on the subject, provided by organisations with unquestionable expertise.
In 1995, after a deep refounding process, the EEF started organizing dinner-debates so that MEPs have the opportunity to discuss openly energy issues with other players in the sector.
As a dynamic organisation, the EEF evolved during all these years, diversifying its activities and members and adapting itself to the continually evolving world of energy.
