The Foundation has organised a meeting between a Chinese delegation, a number of Members of the European Parliament and those associate members most directly concerned.

This meeting forms part of a study of the energy and environmental problems of three large Chinese cities funded by the Synergy programme.

The study is being headed by a group of Chinese institutes and an ad hoc European association under the guidance of Jaap Jensen, a senior economist with ECN (Netherlands).

Under the terms of the contract, the Foundation is consulted on the contents of the draft report before it is officially submitted to the Commission.
