Whenever environmental aspects are of primary concern, Waste-to-Energy makes perfect sense: efficient energy production at low emission rates.

This innovative technology – providing jobs within the EU for several thousand people – is exported to all regions of the world where there is a demand for progressive environmental policies.

Against this background European technology standards are to be established and ultimately linked to those internationally accepted while focusing on questions regarding safety, environmental compatibility and social acceptance of Waste-to-Energy power stations.

The Waste to Energy Industries actively support the current activities of the EIPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) Bureau in Sevilla regarding Best Available Technologies for Waste Incineration and act completely in line with the recent Communication from the Commission “Towards a thematic strategy on the prevention and recycling of waste”.

Energy production from waste ought to be recognized as a means of energy recovery, a logical conclusion from the point of view of environmental policy. In order to progress towards an integrated waste concept in Europe with the environmentally sound use of Waste to Energy as a “Green Energy Option”, the Industries are seeking for co-operation with all relevant stakeholders and for constructive dialogue with politicians.
