Geothermal and wastewater district heating network in a city: Aligning energy security and affordability for businesses and communities
We are pleased to invite you to our site visit of a geothermal district heating development site, organised in collaboration with EEF Associate Member Euroheat & Power.
Developed in the heart of Brussels, the Brussels North carbon-neutral heating and cooling network will harvest renewable energy from geothermal and wastewater to heat and cool a neighbourhood characterised by a contrast between glass high-rise towers with offices and surrounding disadvantaged neighbourhoods with a high share of social housing.
The visit will showcase how district heating and cooling can deliver affordable energy, while strengthening Belgium’s energy security.
