Dinner debate in Strasbourg

As Europe advances toward climate neutrality, the question of how different regions can adapt, especially rural and off-grid areas, remains central.

More than 137 million Europeans live in rural areas, with limited infrastructure and diverse building conditions and multiple energy solutions should be considered to enable a practical and inclusive transition.

In this context, SHV Energy and Liquid Gas Europe will present the challenges of decarbonizing this segment. They will explain the potential role of renewable liquid gases such as renewable LPG and renewable DME and the need for a technology neutral approach to ensure all citizens can play a role in the transition.

COGEN Europe will complement this with a presentation on cogeneration, highlighting its key role in efficiently integrating electricity and heat for rural industries and communities. Experts will showcase how cogeneration contributes to resiliency and flexibility, while operating on an expanding range of low carbon and renewable fuels.

Our speakers will share real-world examples and will outline relevant policy considerations within the EU framework.
