Takeaways from the Industry Summit: An energy system fit to support European competitiveness
The European Energy Forum is pleased to invite you to this Energy-debate co-hosted by its Associate Members Eurogas, GIE and IOGP Europe.
As a follow up to the Antwerp Summit, this debate will explore the role of energy fundamentals in European competitiveness. The geopolitical shifts have brought to light the vulnerabilities of the EU’s energy system and impacted Europe’s industrial base.
How can the EU deliver its transition while also protecting its global competitiveness?
This debate will be an opportunity to discuss how Europe can align its energy, climate and industrial policies to prevent de-industrialisation and carbon leakage.
Our speakers will present their approaches to supporting long term industrial investment in Europe and touch upon the EU’s energy security architecture and the review of the Security of Supply framework, including the need to move from crisis response to crisis readiness. The discussion will also address diversification strategies and the role of technology neutrality in maintaining affordability and competitiveness for both industry and households, while delivering on the EU’s decarbonisation objectives.
